N.W.A. band signed slip, circa 1988 shortly before ''Straight Outta Compton'' debuted, with signatures by Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, DJ Yella and Ice Cube. Signatures were obtained by the consignor Tony Smith, a former Magic Mountain employee who worked the carnival basketball stand. According to Tony, he hit it off with the four who were playing the game, as he was feeding them free basketballs (he knew of them from the LA rap scene). As thanks, the band offered to sign this slip for him, also telling him that they were about to become really famous.
With the very rare signature of Eazy-E, who passed away in 1995. Eazy-E handwrites the inscription: ''TO: TONY / NICE MEETING YOU STAY COOL HOMEBOY / 'EAZY-E' / N.W.A.'' With an additional inscription by Ice Cube who writes, ''TO: TONY / STAY UP / ICE CUBE / N.W.A.''. DJ Yella and Dr. Dre also sign the slip measuring approximately 5.5'' x 3.75''. Verso of slip has numbers on it, looking like it was used in the basketball game. Written by all in black felt-tip. Minor creasing, overall very good condition with strong signatures. Accompanied by PSA/DNA COA for all four signatures.
