June 2025 Sally Ride Auction Ends Thursday, June 26th, 5pm Pacific
Sally Ride's personally owned ''Mailgram'' letter from NASA, dated 25 January 1978 shortly after her selection into Astronaut Group 8 was announced. With subject of ''Orientation for Astronaut Candidates'', letter reads in part, ''This message confirms our telephone conversation concerning your visit to the Johnson Space Center for oeientation [sic] and press activities in connection with your recent selection as an astronaut candidate''. The letter than goes into detail regarding her travel and accommodations in Houston. Letter measures 8.5'' x 22'' unfolded. Near fine condition. With an LOA from CMG Worldwide who represents the Sally Ride estate.
