Buzz Aldrin autograph letter signed, undated but on his Research and Engineering Consultants Inc. letterhead, the short-lived company Aldrin founded in 1972. Letter is likely from early 1973 regarding Aldrin's support of Richard Nixon for President in 1972, as he refers to the inauguration and campaign expenses incurred. Aldrin has long been a supporter of Republican candidates. Letter reads in full,
''DEAR RAY / It was a real pleasure working with you. Sorry we couldn't join you at the inauguration, but at this time I just couldn't justify the expense.
I saw Mamie the other day and she said she couldn't make it either. She is trying to straighten out the mess she got into with Ross which was quite a surprise to me.
I trust Sue sent you the list of my campaigning expenses and there will be no problem finding the funds. / Best wishes for the New Year / yours / Buzz Aldrin''.
Single page measures 6'' x 9''. Folds and minor edgewear at top. Near fine condition.
