June 2025 Sally Ride Auction Ends Thursday, June 26th, 5pm Pacific
Sally Ride's personally owned STS-8 Robbins medal, the third flight of Space Shuttle Challenger and the Space Shuttle's first night launch. STS-8 also marked the first spaceflight by an African-American astronaut, Guion Bluford. Unflown, with serial number ''129'' on rim, along with the Robbins and sterling hallmarks. Features mission insignia in relief on front, with astronauts' names and 30 August 1983 launch and 5 September 1983 reentry dates on reverse. Measures 1.5'', housed in original Robbins case. Near fine condition. With an LOA from CMG Worldwide who represents the Sally Ride estate.
