Hunter S. Thompson Autograph Letter Shortly After John F. Kennedy Was Elected -- Thompson Writes of JFK's Win, ''we got the touchdown - where do we go from here?''

Hunter S. Thompson autograph letter, written shortly before Thanksgiving 1960 and composed on the opposite side of a typed satire entitled ''THE GREAT DEBATE'', with a made-up exchange between Kennedy and Nixon. Underneath, Thompson writes of Kennedy's Presidential victory, ''Ok weedsucker - we go the touchdown - where do we go from here?'' He then draws an arrow to the other side of the page where he writes, ''no breaks on the money front here. No news of import. Drinking continues. Sex enters. Will probably retire to Big Sur on Sunday. I've been offered food & board as long as I keep writing. Maybe $3.04 per hour road Job. Thanksgiving approaches - things are getting tangled here - trouble looms - will flee unless big money pops up real quick. What is the score on your end?...'' Paper measures 8.5'' x 11''. Folds and light toning, overall very good plus condition with unique content.
