Invitation to Queen Victoria's 28 June 1838 coronation in Westminster Abbey. Victoria ascended the throne upon the death of William IV and reigned until her death in 1901. The 9'' x 6.25'' blue invitation reads, ''The Coronation of Her Most Sacred Majesty VR / Admit Henry G. Watson Esq into Westminster Abbey. / South Door / Poets Corner''. ''South Transept'' is written in the upper corner of the invitation, numbered 773. The Duke of Norfolk, the Earl Marshal and Marshal of England, affixes his seal to the bottom center as the official issuer of the invitation. Prominent folds and small edge tears with paper residue to verso, else very good.
