Napoleonic General Henri Fulque-d'Oraison signs a ''leave of dismissal'' dated 19 February 1793. The document, a French Infantry, 101st Regiment form, pertains to a leave of absence for Mathian Duchez, a sergeant, age twenty-five, whose appearance is described in detail. D'Oraison signs in the lower right, ''H.F. d'Oraison''. He would become a Knight of the Empire under Napoleon, the highest accolade in the Legion of Honor. 8'' x 11.5'' document bears fragments of a red wax seal. Soiling and separation at folds; tape repair to verso. An attractive document in good condition.
