Sally Ride's personally owned collection of STS-7 Space Shuttle Challenger related items, including invitations to the launch and to a pre-flight viewing of Challenger. STS-7, of course, was Ride's first Space Shuttle mission, making her the first U.S. woman to space fly. Lot includes:

1) ''Special Invitation on the eve of the launch of STS-7'' to be a ''guest of the crew...for an evening viewing of the Space Shuttle Challenger.'' Invitation measures 4.5'' x 6.25''. Accompanied by original NASA envelope. Near fine condition.

2-7) Six invitations to the launch of STS-7. Each card-style invitation measures 4.5'' x 6.25'' as folded. Near fine condition.

8) STS-7 card-style stationery, with its mission insignia on front. Measures 5.5'' x 4.25'' as folded. Near fine condition.
