Autograph letter signed by Ferdinand Walsin Esterhazy, the French Army Officer revealed as the real spy for Germany in the Dreyfus Affair. Although Esterhazy was ultimately exposed, he was never convicted of his crimes, unlike Dreyfus who was wrongfully sentenced to life imprisonment on Devil's Island. Undated French letter translates in full: ''Sir, I requested that you provide me at the castle of Dommartin near Saint Mennehould, Marne, the journal that you had read to me in Rouen. / With thanks / Commandant Estherazy''. Single page measures approximately 3.75'' x 5.5''. Small paper loss at upper left and partially affixed to board, overall in very good condition.
