First edition, first printing of ''Tender is the Night'' by F. Scott Fitzgerald with rare first printing dust jacket. This would be Fitzgerald's final novel and his first literary work following ''The Great Gatsby''. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1934. With all first printing points including Scribner's ''A'' on copyright page and reviews by T.S. Eliot, H.L. Mencken and Paul Rosenfeld on front flap of jacket (the review by Eliot was later removed as it was included without obtaining his permission). The original price of $2.50 is also present. Measures 5.25'' x 7.5''. Bound in publisher's teal cloth boards with gilt lettering. Jacket has some loss affecting title, and chipping to spine, otherwise very good condition with no restoration.
