Lot #12: George W. Bush Signed Speech Delivered on 6 November 2001 --''...But a coalition partner must do more than just express sympathy; a coalition partner must perform...'' -- With Beckett COA

Description

George W. Bush signed souvenir speech delivered from the White House on 6 November 2001, putting pressure on America's allies to join and actively participate in its coalition to fight terror against Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda.

Speech reads in part, ''This morning I did say that Osama bin Laden, al Qaeda, were seeking to develop weaponry -- weapons of mass destruction. And the reason I said this is because I was using his own words. He announced that this was his intention...I am going to the United Nations to give a speech on Saturday. And I am going to praise those nations who have joined our coalition. But a coalition partner must do more than just express sympathy; a coalition partner must perform...It's going to be important for nations to know they will be held accountable for inactivity. You are either with us or you are against us in the fight against terror...[signed] George Bush''.

Speech is printed on two sheets, the first on mock White House stationery. Each measures 5.125'' x 8.25''. Near fine condition, with a bold black felt-tip signature by President Bush. With Beckett COA.
