In this intriguing letter, Einstein lends support to his close friend, Joseph Landau who was head of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. The JTA at the time was under attack for its management, with Landau specifically targeted. Letter in German roughly translates,
''...Your illuminating letter of September 26th proves to me that there is no need for statements from me in the painful matter. Since this has already been hopelessly resolved, I have refused to comment...especially since I am aware of the futility of such attempts to preach reason, I am convinced. / My kind regards / yours / [signed] A. Einstein...''
