Large quarto volumes each measure approximately 9'' x 11.75'' x 3'', filled with dozens of engravings under tissue guards, telling the pictorial history of Paris after the French Revolution and the destruction of many buildings, particularly cathedrals. Bound in green and brown boards ruled in gilt. Previous owner's bookplates to front endpapers, some fading and dampstaining to boards, minimally affecting interior. Previous owner's 1832 inscription to title page. Overall in very good condition. A stunning, rare and complete first edition.
