Original Hal Foster lot of preliminary artwork for the ''Prince Valiant'' comic strip, #1791 in the series. Set of two pencil sketches were for the strip published on 6 June 1971, hand-drawn by Foster as the strip transitioned from Foster to John Cullen Murphy. Foster sketches the draft for panels 1-2 on one sheet, and then a larger draft of panel three on a separate sheet. A typed story outline, and separate typed story narration are also included. Four sheets each measure 8.5'' x 11''. Three hole punch, light soiling and paperclip impression, overall in very good condition. From the John Cullen Murphy estate.
