Eugene V. Debs handwritten signed letter, composed on 14 October 1920 while serving in prison in Atlanta for sedition after he urged resistance to the World War I draft. Composed to journalist Frank Harris, the Socialist Party leader writes, ''I shall not see your [Pearson's] Magazine, to my deep regret...You have fought and are now fighting a heroic battle against overwhelming odds, and but for your genius and personality Pearson's could not have lived. You have in fullest measure my admiration, my love and best wishes...Eugene V. Debs''. Single page letter measures 4.875'' x 6.675''. Composed in pencil. Chipping with small paper loss at lower left, overall very good condition.
