Original artwork for the Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers album ''Into the Great Wide Open'', used in the album CD booklet, and also for the promotional CD single ''Learning to Fly''. Airbrush painting on LetraMax illustration board was done by Awest, whose long collaboration with Petty resulted in the visual interpretation of Petty's ideas for album and tour art. The idea for this piece was given by Petty directly to Awest, with Awest writing on the verso of the board, ''Awest / 1991 / Inspired by the frog suits of Crescent Beach, Florida''. Awest also signs and dates the front at lower right, additionally writing, ''For the frogs of Crescent Beach''. Artwork measures 20'' x 15''. Near fine condition. Accompanied by a color print of the label art, and also a promo CD for ''Learning to Fly'' featuring the artwork. From the collection of Cathy Buffington, employed by Tom Petty for many year's as the band's archivist.
