Beautiful trophy won by tennis legend Arthur Ashe at the 1972 World Championship Tennis Circuit. As part of the WTC events, Ashe competed at the Kemper International Tournament in Chicago. He was runner-up in singles, with Tom Okker of the Netherlands in first place. This stunning silver bowl features a flared rim and is lightly engraved to the exterior, ''Runner Up / Kemper International / 1972''. A stamp on the underside identifies the maker of the bowl as Massachusetts silversmith Reed & Barton. Measures 10'' in diameter, 5'' in height and weighs 2 pounds, 1 ounce. Foot diameter measures 4.75''. Still boasts a brilliant patina to the exterior, with just a thumbnail of tarnishing to the side and some occasional speckling. Tarnishing to interior, else near fine. With an LOA from Arthur Ashe's widow.
