''Straight Outta Compton'' LP Record Album Signed by the Photographer of the Iconic Photo, with Story About How It Came to Be

Eric Poppleton signed ''Straight Outta Compton'' LP album cover, describing the iconic photo of N.W.A.'s album that started gangsta rap. With the band members hovering over the perspective of the viewer, the ''can't be ignored'' artwork matched the revolution in music that accompanied it. Penned in black felt-tip, Poppleton writes, ''[signed] Eric Poppleton / Eric Poppleton - Photographer for N.W.A.'s Straight Outta Compton. After graduating from CalArts a friend of mine who worked at Capitol Records called me to photograph the band N.W.A. All of us including the band were starting our careers in the arts. This cover was created 'on the fly' in a downtow[n] Los Angeles alleyway. The revolver in the image was real and hopefully 'Eazy-E' unloaded it. None of us knew how iconic this album cover would become.'' Album measures 12.5'' square. Near fine condition. Accompanied by an LOA from Poppleton.
