Beautiful set of lithograph photographs of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II and H.R.H. Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, each signed and dated 1957 underneath the photos. This portrait of Elizabeth is the most iconic image of the Queen, taken by Dorothy Wilding, the first woman appointed as Royal photographer; it was used for the official British stamp featuring the Queen, known as the Wilding issue.
The matching portrait of Prince Philip was taken by Baron, a personal friend of Philip's, who also photographed the Queen and Philip's marriage, and the first official photos of King Charles after his birth. Visible portion of photograph and signed mat measure 16.5'' x 22'', each beautifully framed to a size of 25.5'' x 31.5''. Not examined out of frame; minor toning to mat, else near fine condition. A stunning display, rare in this oversized format.
