King Charles IX of France document signed, dated March 1567. Charles, who became king at age 10, was 17 when he signed this document. In 1567, war broke out between Catholics, backed by Charles, and the Protestant Huguenots. Religious wars continued off and on throughout Charles' short reign. He died only seven years later, at the age of 23, making autographs by him as King quite rare. Two pages of the 3pp. card style document in French are numbered 37 and 38. Minor soiling, toning and dampstaining to 8.5'' x 12.5'' document; very good condition.
