William Pitt the Younger autograph letter signed, composed on 9 October 1805 from Walmer Castle as Prime Minister. Pitt writes to R. Francis, Esq., in part, ''In consequence of the letter which I received from you yesterday, I have written...that a further advance may be immediately made to the amount you desire. Lord [?] is to be here on Friday. I shall be glad if you will meet Him. Sir Sydney Smith and Wm [?], between two and three that day, and I shall hope for the pleasure of your Company...Wm Pitt''. Two page letter on a single sheet measures 7.375'' x 9.25''. Folds, overall very good condition.
