Exceptionally rare Walt Disney signed ''Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'' world premiere program, signed by Disney without inscription, perhaps the only such signed program extant. ''Snow White'' was Disney's first animated feature film and although it ushered in the Golden Age of Animation, the success of the groundbreaking film wasn't always a foregone conclusion. Many in Hollywood thought it would bankrupt Disney's studio, as he had to secure emergency funding during production to finish it. But when it finally premiered on 21 December 1937 at the Carthay Circle Theatre in Los Angeles, the audience gave Disney a standing ovation and he would go onto to receive an honorary Oscar plus seven miniature Oscars for his achievement.
Program is signed by Disney in black fountain pen to the inside front cover, with Disney's usual large signature and unique paraph underneath his name. Elaborate program features silver foil pages at center, advertisements throughout wishing Disney success with the film, and details on the production process. On the page for '''Snow White' Colors'', it states that ''as many as twenty-six shades of paint were used on a single celluloid during the making of 'Snow White.''' Program measures 10.125'' x 13'' with a color cut-out on front. Some toning and light soiling to covers. Minor creasing to interior pages. Overall in very good condition. With Phil Sears COA.
