Beautiful 12 volume, limited edition set of the ''Complete Works of Abraham Lincoln,'' edited by Lincoln's personal secretaries John G. Nicolay and John Hay. The Sponsors' edition, Lincoln Memorial University, circa 1904, published in an unspecified limited edition, this volume #358 issued to David MacClement Rowe. Volumes contain Lincoln's speeches and papers with many fold-out copies of his personal correspondence. Beautifully bound in red leather and cloth, with gilt detailing and top edge gilt, and with tissue-guarded frontispieces in each volume. Books measure 6.25'' x 9.25'' and run approximately 360pp. each. Very minor shelf wear, otherwise no flaws, except for pencil inscription at the end of each volume by Rowe stating when he finished reading. Near fine condition.
