Sigmund Freud handwritten card, composed on his personal stationery, accompanied by an envelope also penned entirely in his hand. Card is dated 27 September 1931, written by Freud in German in black fountain pen, stating that he can't receive any visitors. Envelope is postmarked a day later on 28 September, handwritten by Freud to Herr Dirk van Raalte. Card also has Freud's name and address embossed on flap. Envelope measures 5.5'' x 3.75'' with fitted card measuring just under that. Some buckling to card and envelope, and discoloration to envelope. Very good condition.
