Complete costume for Robert Downey, Jr. from his acclaimed performance as Charlie Chaplin, playing his legendary ''Tramp'' character in ''Chaplin''. Iconic look of the ''Tramp'' is credited to Chaplin himself, who cited his own costume design as a source of inspiration for defining the character, represented perfectly in this eight-piece costume. The cane is confirmed as screen used, and the entire outfit was used for the movie and parts or all could have been screen used. Pieces are vintage movie wardrobe re-purposed for this film, comprising: (1) charcoal grey bowler or derby hat in a rather small size, (2) pinstriped bowtie, (3) pale pink long-sleeved button-down shirt in size 16 1/2-35, (4) patterned vest buttoned too tightly, (5) black dinner jacket with Downey's name and movie title typed on one of the labels, (6) oversize grey wool striped trousers with Downey's name and movie title typed to a label, with suspenders attached, (7) oversize pair of dark grey wingtip shoes, (8) wooden or bamboo cane. Costume is displayed on a mannequin showcasing the improper fit of the clothing and bearing a plaque with Downey's name and the movie title. Small tear to jacket lapel, tearing to vest, especially to lining and some soiling to shirt. Very good as an overall display. With a COA for the cane from Richard Attenborough.
