First edition, first printing of the iconic children's book, ''Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'' by Roald Dahl, in original first printing dust jacket. New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1964. Profusely illustrated by Joseph Schindelman, with all first printing points present: six-line colophon on last page, mustard yellow endpapers and top edge brown, Oompa-Loompas are black and African, not orange or white. Housed in the original price-clipped first printing dust jacket, with no ISBN number on the rear panel as called for. Some foxing and chipping to jacket, in very good condition. Mild shelf wear and foxing to book, also in very good condition.
