Rare master copy of side one of Prince's debut album, ''For You'', one of only a handful of copies struck for Prince, his management and record executives in order to have a final listen before the album was pressed. Dated 18 February 1978, this reel-to-reel tape was produced from the master of the final mix, engineered by music legend Bernie Grundman at A&M Records in Hollywood, California, recorded in stereo 1/2 track at 15 IPS (inches per second) with Dolby noise reduction. Tape includes the mastered versions of ''For You'', ''In Love'', ''Soft and Wet'', ''Crazy You'' and ''Just as Long as We're Together'', the songs that appeared on side one of the album ''For You'' released on 7 April 1978, launching Prince into his stratospheric music career. Tape reel measures 10.5'' in diameter, stored in original box with original labeling. Tape is offered as collector's piece only and does not come with rights for reproduction, manufacturing or distribution. In vintage, near fine condition. With original LOA.
