President William Howard Taft signed photograph, signed from the White House on Taft's last day in office on 3 March 1913. The 27th President wistfully inscribes, ''For my friend F.D. Woodward of New York and of the Erie Road, with best wishes and high regard / The White House / March 3, 1913''. Taft signs his name to bottom right of the portrait, taken by the Harris & Ewing portrait studio in Washington D.C. Measures 9.75'' x 13.75''. Block of toning over inscription and dampstaining. In good condition, with flaws easily framed out.
