Unique lot of items related to the 27 August 1964 world premiere of ''Mary Poppins'' at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles. Lot includes:
1) Red police pass, to be put inside the guest's car in order to ''enter the Chinese Theatre Premiere traffic lane''. Front of pass has ''Walt Disney's / MARY POPPINS'', along with place and date of the premiere. Measures 6'' x 4.125''. Near fine condition.
2) Information card announcing perks associated with the premiere, reading, ''telecast of the pre-premiere activities will be shown inside the theatre on closed circuit TV...so that you may arrive early and enjoy all the excitement and glamour of opening night'' and a ''champagne toast to 'Mary Poppins' in the 'garden''' after the film. Measures 5.5'' x 4.25''. Near fine condition.
3) Original envelope from the ''Mary Poppins Premiere Office'', which is embossed on flap. Postmarked from Burbank on 18 August 1964, envelope is addressed to Mr. and Mrs. William Walsh; Bill Walsh was the producer and screenwriter of ''Mary Poppins'' who was personally nominated for two Academy Awards related to the film. Tear from opening, else near fine.
