Poignant lot of 16 photos of the Kennedy family, taken by White House photographer Cecil W. Stoughton, and housed in his custom red leather binder, stamped with his initials ''CWS'' on spine, as well as ''Last Trip to Atoka Nov. 1963''. Silver gelatin, double weight photos were taken at the Kennedy family home in Virginia just weeks before the President's assassination, and include: (1-2) Two photos of President Kennedy leaving St. Stephen the Martyr Church with Caroline Kennedy, also showing Jackie Kennedy with John F. Kennedy Jr. in the background; (3-4) Two photos of Jackie, Caroline and JFK, Jr., accompanied by their nanny Maud Shaw, arriving at the Kennedy family compound; (5-6) Two photos of Caroline riding her horse; (7-10) Four photos of President Kennedy, Jackie, John Jr., and Lem Billings riding in a golf cart, with Clipper the family dog walking alongside; (11-16) Six photos of the Kennedy family home from different angles. All glossy photos measure 8'' x 10'', numbered in pencil by Stoughton or his office on verso. Photo album, lined in red silk damask, measures 9.5'' x 10.75'', with light wear and rubbing, in very good condition. Photos are near fine.
