Charming autograph letter signed by Peter Lawford as a young 16 year-old actor. The future Rat Packer and Kennedy family brother-in-law writes to the wife of composer Peter DeRose, with original envelope postmarked 8 August 1939.
Letter reads in part, ''I wonder if you remember me, you were so kind to me & also your husband. We are in Englewood for one month & would be so pleased if you both could find time to drive out & have lunch or tea with us, on any day you say. / I made a picture in Hollywood for M.G.M. (Lord Jeff) & am going back when I am 18 (in 2 years time). / My parents send their regardds & hope you will manage to come out. Best congratulations over 'Deep Purple', it is beautiful. / Most Sincerely / Peter Lawford.''
The polite young actor then adds a postscript, ''P.S. Look at the little rose on your charm bracelet & you will remember me!! / P.L.'' Letter on bifolium stationery measures 5.375'' x 6.75''. Single fold, overall near fine. With PSA/DNA COA.
