Patrice Lumumba autograph letter signed from August 1959 as President of the MNC (Mouvement National Congolais), shortly before he was elected Prime Minster of the Republic of the Congo in 1960; lot also includes 13 press photographs, circa 1960 during Lumumba's tenure as Prime Minster and after he was deposed. Lumumba served as Prime Minister for less than 3 months before being executed in January 1961 in a coup that brought dictator Joseph Mobutu to power. Composed in French on blue typing paper, single page letter measures 8.25'' x 10.5''. Folds and light creasing, overall very good plus condition. Rare.
