1989 Primetime Emmy award for ''The Tracey Ullman Show'', including ''The Simpsons'' short ''Maggie in Peril''. Emmy was won in the category of ''Outstanding Art Direction for a Variety or Music Program''. Of course, before ''The Simpsons'' secured its own primetime slot in 1989, it debuted as a series of shorts on ''The Tracey Ullman Show'' from 1987-1989. The iconic winged woman holding an atom stands on the convex, grid-lined surface of a round metal base, plated in 18k gold. Flat perimeter of base reads: ''ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS AND SCIENCES''. Plaque is engraved with 7 lines naming the award, its category and recipient: ''1988-1989 PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS / OUTSTANDING ART DIRECTION FOR A VARIETY OR MUSIC PROGRAM / THE TRACEY ULLMAN SHOW / ALL ABOUT TAMMY LEE / MAGGIE IN PERIL - PART 2 / FOX / PORTIA IVERSEN''. Measures 15.5'' in total height with 7.5'' diameter base and weighs 5 lbs., 10 oz. Some tarnishing to metal and wear to black band, overall in very good condition.
