The Torch Relay tradition was begun in 1928, where a spark from the parent flame in Olympia, Greece ignites the torch that begins the Relay, ending in the host city in time for the opening ceremonies, in this case Vancouver on 12 February 2010. Elegant white torch has colorful ''Vancouver 2010'' to center, and contains silver metal casing featuring ''With Glowing Hearts'' written in English and French. Accompanied by official gray cloth case, as well as official unused clothes to be worn by the torchbearer on the relay route. Outfit includes a white, green and blue size XL windbreaker, a ''one size fits all'' white knit hat, and red ''Vancouver 2010'' knit mittens. Torch measures 37'' long and 3'' at its widest point. Also includes official certificate of participation from the Olympic organizing committee. Torch has discoloration to top from where flame was lit. Near fine condition overall.
