Moe Howard autograph letter signed on 7 June 1939 to his family, while in London during The Three Stooges stage tour in the United Kingdom. In part, ''...I'm as nervous as a cat. Got up at 10: A.M. this morning and had the usual breakfast...Then went out into Hyde Park with a Furrier from New York...'' Referencing his and Helen's wedding anniversary of 7 June, he writes, ''...Fourteen years in heaven with the sweetest of angels, makes me long that much more for triple that many, as the human who naturally wishes for so much more of the good things of life when his life is already chuck full of glorious happiness...God bless you my wonderful Sweetheart / Your ever devoted / Beans.'' Two page letter on single sheet of Mount Royal Hotel stationery measures 5'' x 8''. Bit of creasing at top, overall very good.
Letter reads in full,
"Darling Beansie, Joanie, Paul & All: --
Hope you are all well at home. I'm feeling okay, but I'm going a little bit nuts waiting to hear from you. The Normandie arrives to-morrow morning and if I don't get a letter the following day I'll be sunk. I'm depending on a letter and how. We open to-morrow and I'm quite upset and with out word from you I'll be doubly so. I'm as nervous as a cat. Got up at 10:A:M. this morning and had the usual breakfast Bacon & eggs, I'm quitting that after to day, Rolls, marmalade and tea. Then went out into Hyde Park with a Furrier from New York by the name of Sam Diamond walked all over the park then sat in a sun chair. They charge ten pence (4c) to sit on any chair in the park sat there for a couple of hours right near where they are building air raid shelters then went back to the hotel went to my room and took a bath, there are no showers here, came down in the lobby". Letter continues on verso,
"June 7 1939

To continue to love you is for me the simplest thing in life. And as always the simplest things are by by far the best and most enjoyable.
Not to be with you again on any of our June 7th's is deplorable enough angel, but from my heart which is forever with you altho I am far away, I wish you all the happiness I have en-joyed as your sweetheart, all the health I wish for myself. - and all the prosperity that you so richly deserve, And above all I shall love you devotedly for all the future anniversaries God may grant us, as I have for the past 14 glorious ones.
