Academy Award-winning actress Mary Astor autograph letter signed, dated 5 June 1957. To her agent Gloria Safier, letter discusses her upcoming autobiography which was published in 1959, specifically with regards to the collaborator on the book. Reads in part, ''...regardless of the fact that Dr. Carothers is not 'box office' as a ghost writer, that he must at least be given the opportunity to do the work on my ms. [manuscript]... '' Signed ''Mary'', letter on 3pp. measures 7'' x 10'' with Safier's response on blue rice paper stapled to top. Folds and toning to letter, else very good. Date is possibly written by someone else.
