Rare autograph quote twice-signed by Mark Twain, who here pens a clever quip, ''From one who claims acquaintance by inheritance. / Truly yours / S.L. Clemens / (Mark Twain)'', inscribing the quote to Miss Annie Lamb, with the year 1882 written in another hand. Quote is contained within an autograph book belonging to Miss Lamb, the daughter of Twain's congressman Alfred William Lamb. Page measures 7.25'' x 4.75''. Faint foxing, else near fine with bold handwriting.
