Marilyn Monroe mink stole, with Western Costume Co. label sewn within reading ''Marilyn Monroe'' in type. Mink stole matches the one held by Marilyn in ''Love Happy'', the 1949 Marx Brothers film where she appeared in one scene as a relative unknown, a year before her breakout ingenue performance in ''All About Eve''. The mink stole worn in ''Love Happy'' is clearly folded in quarters, thereby matching the length of this stole. The lining is also visible in the film, showing a light brown-gray satin trimmed in black, consistent with this mink stole. Stole measures approximately 76'' long, 15'' at its widest point and 9'' at its narrowest. Monogram to lining shows ''MJA'', likely from another movie to which this stole was worn. Satin lining shows some shredding in parts, and fur is torn at seam in one part. Overall in very good condition, with fur displaying beautifully.
