Eleven letters from prisoners at Dachau and Auschwitz concentration camps, circa 1940-1944. Each correspondence is written in German or Polish on official issue stationery, with ''Lagerordnung'' (''Disciplinary and Penal Code'') rules of the camp printed on the stationery. All prisoners include their names and ID numbers, along with the dates. 10 of the letters are written from Dachau and one is from Auschwitz, with the type of stationery varying according to the year. Letters run 1-2pp. each on a single sheet designed to fold and mail without a separate envelope. Letters measure approximately 6'' x 8.25'' and most are stamped in German, some with stamps of Adolf Hitler. Toning, creasing from mailing, and minor staining to some. Very good overall. Untranslated.
