Dwight D. Eisenhower typed letter signed as President, dated 14 December 1956 on official White House stationery. Here, Eisenhower writes to his brother, Edgar, discussing the sad loss of his son, Doud Dwight Eisenhower: ''...I lost a son of my own many years ago -- the only one we then had. To this date it is not an easy thing to deal with when it comes fresh to my memory, but it is something that I had to learn to accept or to go crazy...'' Signed ''DE'' boldly in black ink. Letter measures 7.25'' x 10.5'' on one page. Near fine condition.
