Acclaimed Hollywood costume designer Edith Head signed sketch. The 8-time Oscar-winner signs ''Edith Head'' to the lower right corner in pencil. The vellum page is titled ''Inflight'' and the figures dressed in cobalt blue appear to represent stewardesses. Head's handwritten notations cover the page, distinguishing between the two costume designs: the figure on the left wears a sleeveless tunic with a white blouse and a skirt, while the other appears in a sleeveless sweater with a scarf tied around her neck. The scarves pictured bear the letter G as a logo. Head designed for real airlines as well as for the ''Airport'' movie trilogy. Pencil notations to verso appear to be in Head's hand as well. Single-page sketch measures 12'' x 9''. Mounted to paper to an overall size of 13.75'' x 11''. Near fine, save for mounting and a few pinholes to edges.
