'The New York Times'' from 1 May 1945, describing ''Red Army troops storming the blazing...heart of Berlin'', features front page coverage of Dachau's liberation, the Allied capture of Munich and the Nazi surrender in Denmark. The ''Times'' reports that even Germans were being told the war would soon be over. The 38 page 16.5'' x 22.5'' newspaper features the grizzly photo of recently-executed Mussolini hanging by his feet in a public plaza. Chipping and toning, else very good.
