Herbert Hoover signs a copy of ''The Challenge to Liberty''. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons: 1934. Hoover, recently defeated for the Presidency, reacts to FDR's New Deal policies in this book. Below an inscription in another hand that reads, ''To George Benson / with highest regards of'', the former President signs upon the front free endpaper, ''Herbert Hoover''. Benson was the Washington bureau chief for the ''Minneapolis Journal.'' 212pp. book with blue cloth boards measures 5.75'' x 7.75''. Very good condition.
