This edition reports on the Chicago Fire, with several engravings depicting the extensive damage to the city's churches and government buildings. Also features Thomas Nast's double-page wood engraving of his ''Tammany Tiger'' political cartoon. Nast draws a ravenous tiger mauling Columbia in an arena to the delight of Tammany Boss William Magear, Tweed and company. Paper runs 16pp. Mild toning to edges, creasing near spine, and occasional small chips to edges. Near fine.
