Earle Ovington autograph letter signed. The American inventor, aviator and air mail pioneer dates the letter 15 August 1922. A boater as well, he writes upon Santa Barbara Yacht Club stationery as one of its officers: ''Dear Freschel, Yours 2nd rec'd. Expect to cruise Maine and northern US next year, then south to Nassau for winter, then thru canal & up Calif. coast. Much interested in round-world cruise only boat too big for fun. 100 feet better. Yes, I'm full of ideas on boating. Just back from Yacht regatta of our assn. Won a nice cup & two medals. Let me hear from you / Earle Ovington / Glad Vegex doing so well. You deserve it. My sub division making a clean-up.'' 1pp. measures 8.5'' x 11''. Toning and chipping to right edge of delicate sheet. Very good.
