Pair of hand-drawn sketches by Thomas Edison for his Edison Chemical Factory. Both appear to be pipe configurations, and the inventor writes on one of them: "friction of 30 ft of pipe across any platten". Edison's employee, Jaffrey Buchanan, who managed operations at the factory, adds his own note to the sketch, "This sketch was made 2 am in press room, and this was really the last spell Edison had of working day & night. For 2 weeks he worked every other night & till about 8 or 9 pm on the intervening nights. Buchanan". 8.25" x 11" sketch is dated 8 February 1922, possibly in Buchanan's hand. The second pencil sketch measures 5" x 8" and is also dated 8 February 1922, in the same hand. Moderate toning, creasing and chipping. Very good condition.
