John Tyler invitation as President, dated 1 March 1842, addressed to a ''Miss Payne''. The partially printed invitation reads, ''The President requests the pleasure of Miss Payne's company at Dinner on Friday next at five o'clock''. Minor toning, paper loss and tape residue to 5.25'' x 8'' card style invitation, with remnants of a red wax seal. Very good.
