Whittier Union High School yearbook for 1929-1930 featuring Richard Nixon in his senior year. The future President's school photo can be found on page 33. His face appears again on page 73 for his membership in the newspaper staff, and a third time on page 155 as a member of the club ''Constitutional Orators''. An article on the teenage Nixon's prophetic success in this club is also featured, along with the publication of his winning speech on ''American Progress, Its Dependence Upon the Constitution'' on page 154. According to the yearbook, Nixon was recognized by the LA Times for taking first place in the local competition. 191pp. yearbook is bound in black embossed leather boards with orange block print and Moroccan themed design with themed pictorial endpapers. Measures 8'' x 10.75''. Bumping to board corners and wear to spine base and top edge. Light scuffing to boards and toning to leaf edges. Without usual signatures. Very good condition.
