Dan Beard signs ''Buckskin Book For Buckskin Men and Boys.'' Philadelphia: J.B. Lippincott and Co.: 1929. Beard, an illustrator and youth leader who founded the Sons of Daniel Boone, writes on the front pastedown, ''I hope you will enjoy reading this book as much as I did writing it / Dan Beard''. Beard's youth organization merged with the Boy Scouts of America in 1910. 363pp. volume with 6'' x 8.25'' green boards, also illustrated by Beard. Original unclipped dustjacket has separated at folds. Overall very good.
