Mikhail Gorbachev signed first day cover featuring a Gateway silk cachet portrait of Gorbachev next to Thomas Jefferson and Monticello. Cachet is a limited edition, #720 of 1000. Signed by Gorbachev in blue ballpoint, cover is datelined 13 April 1993, the 250th anniversary of Jefferson's birth and marking an event at Monticello attended by Gorbachev where he spoke of the ideals that Jefferson inspired, including democracy for the former Soviet Union. Cover measures 6.5'' x 3.75'', encapsulated by PSA/DNA to a size of 9.5'' x 4.5''. Also with Fanatics hologram COA on flap. Near fine condition.
